The Medicaid application process should be initiated when assets are approximately $15,000. Our Social Services staff can supply you with an application and information about Medicaid.
As long as the Resident remains eligible for Medicaid benefits in the Nursing Center, the Nursing Center agrees to accept from the State of Massachusetts the reimbursement allowed as full payment for all covered services rendered under the Medicaid contract.
For any period of admission during which the Resident is not eligible for Medicaid benefits, the Resident and Responsible Party agree to pay the charges for services. Any nonpayment could be grounds for discharge from the Nursing Center.
If a Resident under the State plan is transferred to a hospital, the bed will be held in reserve for a period specified by the State of up to 10 days. If further hospitalization is required and the State will not cover the bed, then the Resident and Responsible Party must pay for the bed hold or release the bed. We highly recommend that you contact our Social Services Department if your relative is admitted to the hospital.
A Resident of this Nursing Center is entitled to exercise his or her rights as a patient or Resident, and as a citizen, and to this end may present grievances or recommend changes in policies and services to the facility staff, to government officials, or to another person of choice within or outside the facility, free from restraint, interference, coercion, discrimination, or reprisal. A Resident is entitled to information about the facility's policies and procedures for initiation, review, and resolution of Resident Complaints.
